You get an automatic layer mask, although this time the area inside the selection is hidden the pasted image is visible only outside the selection. All four states are now there from the bottom button on your pen. You Could get a Keyboard Layout program and remap the keyboard for all programs (or load the particular layout each time you use Photoshop). Save it as a new brush preset, and name it accordingly. To change the default transform behavior to non-proportional scaling, simply turn OFF the Maintain Aspect Ratio (Link icon) button. This option makes Photoshop paste the image outside your selection. Select the Pressure affects size brush, and in the presets panel > Transfer, set Opacity to Pen pressure. When transforming any layer type, dragging a corner handle now scales the layer proportionally by default, indicated by the Maintain Aspect Ratio button (Link icon) in the ON state in the Options bar. Click the link icon at the bottom of the Layers panel. Photoshop should automatically create a new document tab for your image and switch to it automatically. You can also use the keyboard shortcut Command + O (use Ctrl + O if you’re using Photoshop on a PC). Use this command to paste the image in the exact same position it lived within the document you copied it from. Select the layers or groups in the Layers panel. Browse to select the image you want to insert and click OK.
